Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
i’ve been listening to practically nothing but this guy all month. far and above one of the best witch house producers i’ve discovered.
this is from their FREE ep, available here : http://auralsects.bandcamp.com/album/eenwvff

taken from the free 2trk EP Come On Live Long (link in content source).
i’ve been listening to this and their Mender EP all day. We Cut Corners are doing a few shows with these guys and last nite they posted this video to their FaceBook, being curious, of course, i had a look and loved it. Come On Live Long’s brand of indie rock is lush and so easy to get swept up in.

this is Jakob. Jakob are a post rock band from New Zealand. they are pretty frickin’ amazing.
Jakob now have a bandcamp (link in source) so you can get at their albums and EP with ease. i thoroughly suggest that you do this.

these guys followed me on Twitter quite some time ago (well, a number of months ago). being a curious creature, of course, i had a look at their profile. my curiosity was piqued even further when i saw the name ‘Daniel Anderson’ tied to the project.
i’m a huge fan of Daniel Anderson’s. have been since i first stumbled across his then current band, Idiot Pilot. Daniel is also in The Ghost and the Grace, and Glowbug (of which i have posted a lot of things to Tumblr). he’s also a guitarist for Hyro Da Hero.
turns out Daniel helped write and produce the Ancient Lasers EP with its core component, Daniel Finfer.
i’m a little saddened in myself that it’s taken me until today to finally grab the EP, which is FREE, and which you can get to from this posts source link.
it’s a wonderful EP. a collection of stingingly warm songs consisting of burbling and stuttered beats and noises, blurred and blissful chirps and whirrings, driving percussion and often blazing guitars. all centered by Finfer’s impassioned vocals.
so yeah, it’s good. and you should all get onto it.

i am completely in love with this song. i think it hits so hard because of something i’ve been going through recently.

We Cut Corners debut album has finally launched. i’ve been listening to the premiere stream for a few days now and it is a really, really fantastic (indie/noise rock) album (from Ireland, on the Delphi label). at times manic, and sheer beauty at others.
Earlier this week, a band i follow on over on twitter, Sacred Animals (whom i love to pieces), posted up a link to a fellow Irish band who were offering up their latest EP for free on their BandCamp page.
the band is called Deaf Joe, and the EP; The Softest Touch.
Deaf Joe take a bit of a musical cue from bands like Doves and Elbow. if you took the sense of constant motion out of a Doves track and then stripped it bare, you’d get something close.
the standout tracks here are most certainly the EPs opener, The Softest Touch (Official Video), a gorgeous song that much like its video, boasts of old memories romantically looked back upon; and the devastatingly stark closing track, Black.
at a price of FREE you’ve got nothing to lose by giving this wonderful band a chance.
Glowbug have released an EP on their BandCamp page today. the FREE EP, Covered In Lights Vol.1 is comprised of 4 covers (Pixies, The Smiths, Radiohead and Yeah Yeahs Yeahs).
it’s pretty gorgeous.
KNECKT - The Brazen Cars Pt.2 (Remix) (by) Adolescent
earlier today a band that i dig and follow tweeted a link to download and listen to this guys’ EP. i followed it and have just finished a first play.
it’s quite a wonderful little EP. a mix of Downtempo Electronica, Trip Hop and a little bit of Chillwave
the EP is FREE and is HERE.

No Fun (by) Glowbug
Glowbug is Daniel Anderson, who is one half of the in ‘indefinite hiatus’ Idiot Pilot (and the front-man of The Ghost and the Grace).
where The Ghost and the Grace is an outlet for what i suppose you’d call his calmer side, with an almost college rock vibe and a good clear focus on vocals and lyricism; Glowbug is Daniel’s super-charged and sugared up playful side, taking and expanding upon Idiot Pilot’s experimental electronica/blip/chirp and blending it with a highly infectious and danceable indie pop sense.
Daniel is offering 1 of his EPs and the full length album for free on the bands’ BandCamp page:
