Medicine (by) We Were Promised Jetpacks
#AllDay
been listening to this album, and this song in particular, almost repetitively since i got it last week. it’s an excellent sophomore effort from the band.
Go Easy (by) We Cut Corners
these guys have their debut album coming soon to the Delphi Label and have offered up the track Go Easy as a free download.
in short, this track melts face with its jangly and slightly unhinged indie/art rock.
Running To The Edge of the World (by) Marilyn Manson
Earlier this week, a band i follow on over on twitter, Sacred Animals (whom i love to pieces), posted up a link to a fellow Irish band who were offering up their latest EP for free on their BandCamp page.
the band is called Deaf Joe, and the EP; The Softest Touch.
Deaf Joe take a bit of a musical cue from bands like Doves and Elbow. if you took the sense of constant motion out of a Doves track and then stripped it bare, you’d get something close.
the standout tracks here are most certainly the EPs opener, The Softest Touch (Official Video), a gorgeous song that much like its video, boasts of old memories romantically looked back upon; and the devastatingly stark closing track, Black.
at a price of FREE you’ve got nothing to lose by giving this wonderful band a chance.
On The Road (by) mc chris
as you saw earlier, my copy of mc chris’s new album Race Wars arrived in the post yesterday. i’ve only been able to listen to it once so far, but this track jumped out immediately.
so glad mc decided against pulling the pin after this album. too much talent to stop.
Glowbug have released an EP on their BandCamp page today. the FREE EP, Covered In Lights Vol.1 is comprised of 4 covers (Pixies, The Smiths, Radiohead and Yeah Yeahs Yeahs).
it’s pretty gorgeous.
here’s the Official video clip for Trouble (by) Shinobi. the link to download the track is in the source.
